about
This is the first song that I wrote on a piano. It took me a while to finish this song, because at the time the emotional weight of it was a bit too much to process. So by releasing this frail thing, I'm trying to exercise some sort of honesty, bravery even. And by doing so, I'm hoping to connect. Share pain. Share joy. Be human.
Hope you like it.
lyrics
I see a girl
Suspended in a frame
Too young to be old
No longer the same
Time it crawls
Fills a need
Like a snake in the grass
Lingering
You painted a room
Said your peace
My shadow was the color
Ill at ease
The city heaves
And it sighs
Like a passing train
The moon arrives
sky blue
ocean blue
With nothing too
Much to say
I always wanted a home
I was built that way
I couldn’t make
An image of you
So I took one instead
Out of the blue
I was anxious
Barely alive
Those maps of sorrow
Ocean tides
Nothing could’ve turned you
To face me one last time
Leaves in your hair
In cold daylight
